Training-Workshop on NBC No. 461: Revisiting the CCE and QCE Instrument and New Software Utilization

A seminar-workshop on revisiting, reviewing, and revising the assessment instruments used in the implementation of National Budget Circular No. 461 was initiated by the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges, Inc. (PASUC) in Cebu City from May 28 to 30, 2012. On the first day of the conference, speakers and experts coming from various agencies and state universities and colleges (SUCs) imparted their expertise as inputs for the seminar-workshop. The second and third day of the conference was devoted to workshops aimed at revising the NBC instruments. Institutional and zonal evaluators participated in the workshop. A separate group comprising several SUC presidents tackled the issue on Presidential Discretion (PD) regarding NBC rankings. Simultaneously, zonal encoders participated in the training session on new software utilization during the three-day period.

Eng’g., PASUC had been set to participate in the budget preparation of the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) upon the approval of the commission’s Chairperson, Hon. Patricia B. Licuanan. PASUC preferred to take part of the budget process adopted by CHEd to be able to impart the current situation and needs of the State Universities and Colleges (SUC) during the period of deliberation.
